Barbara Ellen Waldman, Ph.D.

I've been a psychotherapist for more than 40 years. Although I work with adults and couples, I maintain at least half of my practice working with children, adolescents and families. I teach parenting and have been supervising new therapists for more than 20 years.

Over the last 40 years, I've sought to help people in a variety of settings. I've worked in elementary and high schools, with teenage gang members, unwed mothers, inpatient hospital wards and in private practice. I've raised 3 wonderful children and several foster children. I've also functioned as a child advocate within the legal system.

My training and background is Adlerian and over the years I have integrated other philosophies and theories into my practice. Cognitive Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Rational Emotive Therapy are but a few of the philosophical theories that I have found helpful in my work.

If you have any questions about my clinical orientation please don't hesitate to call.
